When I made the decision to lose weight, I didn't have any prior knowledge to help me or anyone to turn to for advice. Being a broke college student living on $1,000 a month in an expensive area, I couldn't afford a personal trainer or nutritionist. I had to figure out everything I needed to know through trial and error. The action that made me most successful was calorie counting to the extreme. I calculated that I needed to eat 1800 calories a day to lose 2 pounds a week.
After my weight loss transformation, I gained about 20 pounds within a matter of weeks because I failed to develop a proper relationship with food.
